Major Pattern Change in the Works!

We haven't had a really appropriate "Welcome to January!" yet. The jetstream pattern so far this winter has been locked far to the north (typical of a El Nino year). However, there are major signs that this pattern will break down next week. Temperatures for the remainder of the week will be above average. However, beginning Sunday temperatures will be below average! Back on December 1, 2006 we had 10.7" of snow. The week after that snow saw highs in the low-teens with lows in the negative singles. That could be repeated, especially if we get a few inches of snow on the ground this weekend...providing the needed insulation from the warm ground below. Stay tuned! -ERIC
