The Hydrometeorological Prediction Center issues probability charts for snowfall. In this graphic, they believe there is at least a 40% probability of exceeding four inches of snow through Monday evening.I am working on the snowfall forecast map. Will the snow stick right away? Or will there be melting on contact, due to the warm ground?
Well im nowhere close to a meteorologist.. but i think its been cold enough for long enough that it won't.
anyway 40% seems kind of low. The percentage chances that are used always seem pretty low to me though.
