The Latest Road Conditions

Here are the phone numbers to the latest road conditions in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Winds have been gusting close to 35MPH this morning causing significant drifting, especially on North/South roads. Due to the blowing of the snow, visibilities have been reduced to less than one mile in some spots. Make sure that you leave yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go the rest of this morning and afternoon. The afternoon commute will probably be just as slippery as the morning commute. The snow will be ending by late this afternoon, but the winds will continue to blow through the night and into tomorrow. Please drive carefully and courteously today. -ADAM

Did the storm track north? We seem to have received more than down south a ways. Maybe it is just my relative observation....

Central Illinois has gotten slammed with this storm. While we're on the fringe, it's the blowing and drifting that's the bigger problem. -ERIC

NIU shut down the first time in 27 years. The drifting is terrible on the backroads of Lee County. Stay home if at all possible. Keep your teens off the roads as I am keeping mine off the road they don't have enough experience with these kind of road conditions. Stay Safe
