Melting & Refreezing

It is a process that is going to continue to occur through the rest of the work week. During the day our temperatures will rise above the freezing mark, which will melt away our snowpack bit by bit. Just like last night, our temperatures will then drop below the freezing mark during the overnight hours. All of the runoff from the melting snow will then freeze. Many sidewalks and steps will be icy and slippery so be careful when you are walking out and about the next couple of mornings.

The roadways should stay ice-free for the most part due to the constant traffic. Cars cause enough friction and wind to keep the wet conditions from freezing. Areas with enough traffic will actually keep the roadways dry (Hwy 20). -ADAM
