Storm Chance Increasing Tonight

The Storm Prediction Center has put out an outlook for storms tonight. The image to the left shows the chance of thunderstorm activity before 10pm CDT. The image on the right shows the chance of thunderstorm activity from 10pm to 7am Tuesday. You can clearly see how they believe the storms will develop this evening over southern Iowa and move east into Northern Illinois after midnight. A few storms may be severe, especially after midnight and before 6am with large hail and gusty winds being the primary threat. -ERIC

I think there would be the same chance in boone county as there would be in jo davies or carrol county. Unless theres a sharp cutoff or something. But yay I love storms... although i wish it was day so that i could see them.

My weather radio failed to go off on saturday for the watch, but still worked for the warning, so I'll have to see what happens with that. They still get sent to my phone so ill be safe.

The probability of tornadoes is very low, but being on the north side of a warm front is a little more favorable for weak tornadoes. As we posted a few days ago, the brief tornado touch downs in SW Wisconsin over the weekend were north of a similar warm front. -ERIC
