We were more like Phoenix than Miami today. We woke up to cool temperatures in the 40s, but since we had such a dry atmosphere (with fewer water molecules present) we managed to get up to 86° during the afternoon! Much like a "watched pot never boils," the atmosphere behaves in a similar way. The more water molecules present (humidity) the harder it takes the atmosphere to heat up...and cool down. When we have a dry atmosphere, we can see major fluctuations in temperature, like today where we were 44° this morning and 86° this afternoon.
However, during the next few days, we'll increase the humidity. While it will be equally warm tomorrow, it'll be more like Miami and less like Phoenix.
So, say "Hello!" to more humidity. Let's hope that humidity will fuel more rain. We could really use it...having seen less than 1/2 inch this May. -ERIC

Us farmers here in Lena are wanting the rain pretty bad to help the already growing corn and oats we planted and the hay is ready to mow, which with the hay being ready you don't want rain cause then you have to wait til it dries to get it out of the field.
