Missouri River Flooding
Parts of the Missouri River are expected to crest nearly ten feet above flood stage. The Hydrometeorological Prediction Center has much of the area around Kansas City in an imminent threat of flooding. The graphic to the left shows the ten day precipitation amounts for the area. In case you're wondering, 250 millimeters is about 10 inches of rain. Imagine that, ten inches of rain in ten days? No wonder the water's piling up in the Mo River! If the rainfall continues west of the Mississippi, it could mimic what happened in 1993. Time will tell...stay tuned! -ERIC

Im not sure if it was the 1993 flood you're talking about, but there was a time when a major river was so over flooded that the current went in reverse. Thats some bad flooding... Im just glad its not around here.
Yes sir, for nearly a month in 1993 the Mississippi River flooded just as bad as the Missouri. Back in '93 we didn't have any flooding at all...Iowa and Missouri saw the most intense rain & flooding. -ERIC
