EXCLUSIVE SEVERE WEATHER INFO

6:55pm This will conclude our severe weather coverage for this event. Feel free to send an E-Mail if you have any pictures from today's storms.

6:20pm New Severe Thunderstorm Warning for DeKalb County. It will mainly affect areas south of the city of DeKalb. Once this storm moves east, the only areas that are still threatened by severe weather are Walworth and McHenry County.

6:12pm Tornado Watch has been canceled for Winnebago, Ogle, and Lee Counties.

5:58pm Tornado Watch has been canceled for Green, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, and Whiteside County. Threat of storms will rapidly diminish in the coming hour or two.

5:40pm Rotation being noted over Eastern Ogle County around Monroe Center, Fairdale, and Kirkland. Take shelter if you live in these areas (even though there is no warning in effect).

5:25pm Rotation being noted over Northern Winnebago County. A storm with a potential for a tornado will be near Roscoe, Rockton, South Beloit, and Beloit. Wouldn't be surprised if a Tornado Warning was issued shortly.

5:15pm Sirens going off in Stillman Valley. A tornado was sighted at Rte 64 and Maple Rd moving in an ENE direction according to the Ogle County Sheriff.

5:06pm Storm over Ogle County showing rotation...same storm that we were tracking at 4:45 over the western part of the county. There appears to be some rotation south of Byron, around Stillman Valley, over to Davis Jct. Remain indoors...and alert!

4:51pm 1.67" of rainfall in 30 minutes over Sterling/Rock Falls. Street flooding reported.

4:50pm Strong to severe storm over the city of Rockford. Winds in excess of 50mph expected.

4:45pm Storm hugging the Ogle/Lee County line with possible rotation. Storm moving east and will be near rural Ashton, Daysville, Chana, Hillcrest, and Flag Center around 5pm. Seek shelter if you are in these areas.

4:34pm The storm over Stephenson County is not showing any signs of rotation. The Tornado Warning will expire at 4:45pm.

4:21pm Possible rotation in the storm near Dixon. Please seek shelter in and around Dixon and Grand Detour.

4:11pm Sirens going off in Polo with an unconfirmed sighting of a tornado.

4:09pm Storm Warnings for the Rockford metro. There really isn't much rotation out of the storm in Stephenson County, although we can't discount the fact that trained spotters had a wall cloud in view. What should you expect with this line of storms? Very gusty winds which could knock down trees and powerlines. Heavy rain is also likely. With a tornado watch in effect, we cannot rule out a few tornadoes within the metro area through 6pm.

3:57pm Tornadoes are possible through evening as a dangerous line of storms works in from the west. We have confirmed a tornado touchdown in Jo Daviess County with a possible tornado right now in Freeport.
