A TORNADO WATCH is currently in effect for the entire viewing area. This tornado watch will run until 7pm this evening. A batch of thunderstorms has formed over eastern Iowa. The widespread activity is north of Cedar Rapids, but that is not my main concern. The southern tip of the storms is where we will watch for further development. As of 12:25pm, a supercell has already spawned a tornado near Muscatine, Iowa, which is just to the southwest of the Quad Cities. The storms are moving in a NNE fashion. Stay here for updates throughout the afternoon. -ADAM

Will the storms stay together? i believe its been cloudy most of the day, so I just thought i'd check..
I have a question. I religiously follow the national weather service website by checking out the hazardous weather outook and check it quite frequently. ( and of course, I keep updated through the wrex website :o)) At the time I checked this morning, there was no severe weather expected for our area. Much to my surprise I see that we are currently under a tornado watch. (Thanks for the email) The hazardous weather outlook still indicates that there is no severe weather anticipated. My weather radio does not display the warning either. So my question would be what happened to warrant the tornado watch for this afternoon? I almost didn't believe it, and of course don't want to get too excited.
Do you know if there is any major damage in Muscatine? I have a close friend that lives there and I have emailed her ... but have not heard back.
I heard that Granview or Grandview Iowa (not sure where it is or correct town name) is shut down because of severe tornado damage. That was around 2:30pm- I havent' heard anything else yet. Just saw on the local channels there is a tornado warning for Jo Daviess county.
With Friday's storms, my Father saw a RED RAINBOW, has never seen one in his life. How does a completly RED rainbow appear? My Father lives in Grays Lake Illinois.
will the storms stay together or become wide spread? When will it most likley hit belvidere il?
do you think it will hit our area? Or do you think it will miss? Write back as soon as you can! Thanks
