EXCLUSIVE SEVERE WEATHER INFO

11:27pm - Looking at the latest radar loops, I have a hunch that most of these storms will travel into the Quad Cities, points E of there. With a threat of severe becoming a little less likely, I'll stop the blog right here. However, if new storms break out, we'll pick things up for you. Thanks again for your positive feedback. I hope this has been a help to you...if it has, please spread the word. The more people that surf by the blog, the more we will post on it. Have a good night. -ERIC

11:05pm - Clearing up the confusion: SPC issues a NEW Severe Thunderstorm Watch centered over the Quad Cities. This watch will include Whiteside Co. and will expire at 6am.

10:54pm - There is a bit of confusion on whether or not the Severe Thunderstorm Watch still exists for NW Illinois. Sounds like you are going to have a long, busy night.
Over where I am by St. Anthony, it is very very still, almost eerie.

Missed what was said on the cut in about tornado threats in the area...are they expected to be in the area?

Going to hold off on the cutin for a few more minutes. The storm will move into Jackson County before it makes it to Carroll County. We've got another 45 minutes for this thing to die down...still tornadic two counties west of the Miss River.

The bow echo that we're watching will continue toward Whiteside County by 8:30. I expect a warning will be issued in the next 15 minutes. -ERIC

Anonymous said...

Ooops nevermind just noticed you didn't do the update lol..my bad=)

Anonymous said...

Is most of the severe weather going to stay to the south of Rockford metro? Seems that way on radar....

Anonymous said...

Did the cutin already happen?? Had to step out one of the kids was scared!

Anonymous said...

Guess i didn't miss it..So i take it as the way of tornadoes or the strong winds we won't see them here in Winnebago? I'm a person that can't go to sleep unless i know we are safe from the real bad stuff.

Eric Sorensen said...

Tornadic threat is diminishing, especially for the US20 corridor. Storms along the I-88 corridor still pose a severe threat. -ERIC

Anonymous said...

Phew at least i can sleep lol..I guess if i wake up with no power that just means we had a wind event...Thanks now i will sleep 90% better=)

I'm feeling a bit tired also..was up until about 4:00am with all the weather going on last night. I also am not able to go to sleep unless things are safe like someone said earlier tonight. Hopefully I won't have to repeat that tonight. I certainly appreciate all the updates from every one on the weather team.
