When will the heat return?

I bet the question a lot of you may be wondering after such a beautiful weekend is "When are the temperatures going to rise again?" The answer: Looks like this week, but just how warm will it get? Sometimes when we get into a weather pattern change, the computer models have a hard time trying to figure out just what will happen. There are basically two scenarios that could play out for this upcoming week. The first: the ridge of high pressure currently in the west will move east and bring the hot temperatures with it (temperatures in the Dakota's reached the 100° mark...and will stay there all week long!) The second scenario: A cut-off low will develop and instead of moving east, it will move back to the west over the Great Lakes. If this were to happen, the heat wouldn't quite make it here. Temperatures would still be warm, but I don't think they would soar into the 90s. I don't know about you, but I sure am hoping for the second one! Hopefully with the next couple of model runs, we'll get a better idea. Until then, I suggest you just soak up this beautiful weekend and enjoy it while you can! - CANDY

Are the models leaning a certain way yet?
