August Rain Recap
To say that the month of August has been soggy thus far is an understatement. The graphic on the left shows what the average August rainfall total has been for the past 30 years. Below it is the amount of rainfall that we have seen during the first 20 days of August 2007. We have almost tripled the amount of rain we typically see, and we still have 12 days left to go for the month!
The graphic on the left is pretty amazing. Our rain this month has been over 7 inches above average. If we hit an extreme dry spell we would still be talking about above average rainfall until the end of October. We could almost make it to Halloween without a single drop of rain and still be in the "green" so to speak. The wettest month of all time in Rockford is August of 1987 when the rainfall total hit 13.55 inches. The potential is certainly there for us to break this by the end of the work week. -ADAM

Rub it in! We are still pretty dry here in Arkansas. I did get 0.51" at my house yesterday. That was the first rainfall of the month.
The storms out over Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa....Are these on track for our area? If so, when can we expect them, and will they still be as strang as they are currently? Thanks.
