Remember me talking about the "rain train" Tuesday afternoon? Earlier this work week the train tracks in the sky (jet stream) were moving directly overhead. That is why we saw impulse after impulse of energy kicking off intermittent wet weather.
The good news is that by this weekend the train tracks in the sky will buckle. A strong ridge of high pressure currently over Mississippi will push northward into Missouri. This will cause the jet stream to arc up into Minnesota sending all of the energy in the atmosphere north of us. If you are headed up to the cabin this weekend you might run into some rain in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or the U.P. of Michigan. On the other hand, if you are staying in town this weekend the weather should cooperate nicely. -ADAM
