Over for the Most Part

This rain event is over for the most part across the Stateline. Just a few weak showers remain across Illinois. The atmosphere across our viewing area has lost most of its instability. Therefore, I don't expect much in the way of redeveloping showers. For the rest of your Friday, the skies should stay dry the majority of the time. The storms were pretty vigorous while they were in eastern Iowa, but then they fizzled out as they neared I-39. This was caused by the south branch of the line of storms cutting off the low level jet that was feeding us the moisture rich air. Rainfall totals from last night look like this:

Dubuque: .57"
Rockford: .39"
Sterling: .15"
Monroe, WI: .27"
Rochelle, DeKalb, and Janesville all reported less than .02"
Freeport did not have a report.

The new blog address does not work well on my mac. It is cutting off part of the right side. Thought I'd let you know.

I will let corporate know about that! I am not sure if they tried it out with a mac or not.

You can still use the old URL (until we get all the bugs worked out).

Thanks!
