Dog Days of October?

Now I have heard of the Dog Days of Summer as a popular phrase, but never in reference to October. Usually one associates October with crisp cool autumn nights along with apple picking and throwing logs into the fire. But lately across the stateline, A/C has been on high and the humidity has paid too long of a visit. But never fear, showers starting out your work week should start to cool things off a bit. By mid week, temperatures should drop into the mid 60's bringing back the feeling of fall. For now enjoy your last "dog day of summer" and Happy Columbus Day tomorrow!

My dogs will be just as happy to see these "Dog Days" disappear.

They're already sporting their winter coats and think they should be flushing Pheasants and retrieving Ducks.

For those that missed it in a post just over a week ago, this is what Candice wrote:

As happy as I was working, being a new mom is a full time job in itself and because of that, I have decided to stay home. It was a VERY tough decision, but my husband and I thought, at least for now, it would be for the best. I will miss doing the weather but who knows, maybe someday I'll get back into it. I wish everyone the best of luck and god bless.
