-50° chills this weekend? Not quite.

Back in 2001 the National Weather Center and Environment Canada (their version of the NWS) came up with a more accurate wind chill factor. I don't know if it was because we stealthfully changed the chart, but there are still quite a few people who believe the weather has gotten warmer (since we haven't had a -50° wind chill in years). Here's a way to compare the old chart to the newer one.

This weekend's -10° temperatures with 20mph winds would be -50° on the old scale. On the new scale the wind chill is about -35°.
