Too Cold to Play in the Snow?

Finally we got some snow yesterday. The kids and kids at heart (like myself) are probably itching to get out there and play in the snow. If you are adventurous enough to head out this weekend you might need the long underwear. If you are thinking about doing some skiing or snow boarding take a look at the graphic to the left. Each Friday morning, I will be showcasing two semi-local ski resorts. This weekend I'm focusing on Alpine Valley and Chestnut Mountain. Those numbers are not low temperatures, they are the HIGH temperatures. Look for mid-single digits near Elkhorn with low single digits temps near Galena. Winds on Saturday will be out of the west at 10-20 mph. Winds on Sunday will be much lighter out of the northeast at 5-10 mph.

If you want to know a little more about the weather team, listen to this. I've been trying to get Eric to commit to going skiing on Sunday, but I think he is going to chicken out. He says he won't go unless temperatures are in the double digits... and that doesn't look promising. Am I the insane one to have the urge to ski the frozen tundra or should I tell Eric to be brave? -ADAM

Not only is it going to be super cold, I'm sure the snow will be somewhat frozen too and not the nice powdery stuff for skiing. I could be wrong though!

Good luck! lol

This weekend will be a good time to light a nice fire and rent some movies :-)

Have fun skiing, Adam --I'll be thinking of you, as we put another log on!
