Busy Weather Week!

After nearly nine inches of snow fell in Rockford Monday night into Tuesday, we're already tracking our next snow event. It doesn't look like we'll see too much snow, but it will be very fluffy! Our computer forecast indicates a potential for a half inch, but with such a cold atmosphere I believe we may see just a tad more than that. Up to an inch seems reasonable with 1-2 inches possible along I-88. After this system we'll be back into the deep freeze with below zero temperatures early Thursday morning.

Friday's system could be more of an event. The leading edge of warm air will move into the Midwest bringing some system-snow. A few inches are expected although its too early to pinpoint exact forecast amounts right now.

The warm air will begin to work on this cold atmosphere this weekend. We'll introduce more precip by Sunday when a nasty mix of snow/freezing rain will be possible. Stay tuned!
