*applause* thank you for the currents! thats one thing this page was missing!
and no, no flu in this house yet (knock on wood). some sniffles though...
No problem Jim! It should update just after the top of each hour with RFD's numbers. I may add some other things such as the visibility, day's high, low, precip, etc.
I don't know of ANYONE who's gotten the flu so far this season. I've had it bad in the past. Maybe I should knock on wood! -ERIC
My brother got it real bad for 2 days. Couldn't get out of bed or anything. Really sore muscles and everything. Not in my house but my family. My girlfriend works at a nursing home and they had a big outbreak yesterday and today. Hopefully it stays confined.
Adam: Let's hope so! I like the poll results so far. I got really sick one time (ironically when I got the flu shot) a few years ago. Since then I've not gotten the shot and have been fine. -ERIC
I'm with Eric. I had a bad experience with the flu shot the only year I got it. Since then I have abstained and have been doing quite alright... (sound of me knocking on wood).
Ya, I have the same, with a flu shot, I never want to see a flu shot again.
Now if we all come down with the flu next week, the five of us can make chicken noodle soup for each other, I feel bad for the one who has to do the weather alone lol
Sorry, I'm going to come down in favor of flu shots. We can get 'em at work and I line right up.
I get a flu shot every year & the last time I had the flu was in 2002 - when I did NOT get a flu shot (that'll teach me...)
I know that getting a flu shot is actually a good idea, but I have to admit I rarely do. I did this year, and got a cold (not the flu) right after --I think that's common, because your immune system is busy making antibodies for the flu virus, so it's not giving you the best defense against other viruses right after you get the shot.
However, even though I've only gotten a flu shot several times (in 40-some years), I've only ever had the flu one time, while I was an undergrad. I think if your immune system is healthy, a flu shot isn't really necessary --I don't feel like we're exposed to the virus all that often.
But I always make my daughter get one because she has mild asthma.
My partner, and I were talking about this one time about the flu. He said he always seems to get the flu right at the beginning of fall or spring season.
He jinx himself he right now sick! That will teach him!
