Yesterday we had nonstop sunshine, but our temperatures never made it out of the teens. Today we have been stuck under gray skies the majority of the day yet our temperatures are quite a bit warmer. The big reason is warm air advection. If the sun can't heat us up, we need to bring in the warmer air from somewhere else. Southwest winds as strong as 20 mph should bring us close to the freezing mark by 3pm this afternoon. After a cold front plows through the region tonight, temperatures tomorrow will be a completely different story. Cold air advection on northwest winds at 10-20 mph will usher in a frigid Canadian airmass. High temperatures on your Friday will be almost 20 degrees colder. To make matters worse, wind chills may be below zero all day long. -ADAM
