If you are a hard sleeper, you slept through some pretty heavy rain last night. I actually utilized an umbrella for the first time in months for my morning commute. The precipitation is done for the most part. All advisories have been dropped. A few sprinkles and flurries may linger, but it won't amount to much at all. As is typical with storm systems that start out as rain, it is pretty tough to get much snow to pile up. Rainfall recorded at RFD was 0.41", but as close as Freeport picked up 0.73" since midnight. This is the main reason why you may run into a lot of puddles and standing water across the region. Sidewalks likely will turn slick once our temperatures fall below the freezing mark late this morning. Temperatures will be going backwards today, with readings this afternoon into the mid-20s. Quite a change around from yesterday's pleasant feel. -ADAM

I have to say it's kinda nice to see grass again...even if it's kinda brown. While the snow brightens the gloomy days of Winter, this nasty black and white stuff isn't as cute as a Dalmation Puppy!
It is really nice to see grass, and for me seeing all this snow melt with the nice bright sunshine these 30 degree temps aren't feeling so bad. Of course I can't wait till we hit the big 50.
I just have a feelin that we'll hit 50 next week. Nothing really concrete...just have a feelin! -ERIC
