Severe Week: Day 5

Never, ever cross a flooded roadway. It doesn't matter if you have a large truck or SUV - you can easily get carried off. Flash flooding results in way too many deaths, and it's almost always avoidable.

For either a Severe weather or Tornado WATCH, you can certainly keep doing what you normally would do. Just pay close attention to later weather statements and listen up for thunder if you're outside.

Here's an easy way to remember the difference between watch and warning:
WATCH out (be aware of the weather)
Last WARNING (a warning is the final alert before severe weather)

Turn around don't drown! How many times have you watched about the power of storm surges on the Weather Channel or whatever you like to watch? It works pretty much the same way in flooded waters. Water, like any nearly incompressible fluid, has incredible force per area.

I for one am excited about the warmer temperatures next week..Spring is in the air! That 56 degree day on Thursday sounds just great..even if it does rain. (A side note, I posted a couple of questions yesterday afternoon and am not sure if anyone had a chance to see them. If any of you have a chance whenever that would be great. Thank you for your help!)
