Timing & Intensity

As has been advertised the past couple of days, the storm system spinning over the western Plains is definitely a slow mover. Today's effects to be felt include a large mass of cloud cover, yet little wet weather. I don't see much in the way of shower activity reaching us until the second half of your Thursday. And even then, the showers appear isolated in nature. The widespread rain should reach the region on Friday. The image on the right is from the HPC and it is estimating some healthy rainfall, but not too much that we can't handle it. Friday night football could be a bit soggy, but as a former player it might be kind of fun to play in the mud. For the parents that have to sit through the games, don't expect any cancellations. I do not foresee any thunder or lightning for us, just some light to moderate rain. Some wet weather could linger into the first half of your Saturday, but by then this rainmaker will be on its final leg. -ADAM

Eric, based on what I read on the NWS page, would the possible 60s by halloween be our bout of indian summer since i guess we would have our first killer freeze, possible snowflakes, then warm temps. Or how do you define what indian summer is.

Some consider it the mild days occurring after a frost, although I would wager most people consider it the mild days following a hard freeze (28 degrees or colder).
