Some Slopes are Open
Keystone and Breckenridge Ski Resorts officially opened up last Friday for the 2008-09 snow season. These major Colorado skiing destinations have a minimal snowpack thus far and are not 100% open, but there is enough powder to shake off the cobwebs. These two pictures were taken off of web cams this morning. You can clearly see in both photos some bare ground and some snow machines getting a workout. Even the mountains make artificial snow once in awhile. The shot on the left is of Keystone's terrain park called "A51", and the image on the right is of Dercum Mountain.
For those not interested in a road trip that far away... look for me to bring back the snow report every Friday morning starting in December! -ADAM
