Adopt a Hydrant in Rockford!

Since we've had more snow than you can shake a stick at and more is on the way, the city of Rockford is asking for your help. If you have a hydrant in your yard, you're asked to keep a three-foot diameter area around the hydrant clear of snow. If you have snow around your hydrant but are unable to clear the snow, call the Division of Fire Prevention at 815-987-5660 between 8am and 5pm.
The Rockford Fire Department thanks you in advance!

We have a hydrant right across the street from my house and it is buried. I may have to call that number. I don't know if I am looking correctly, but the GFS 12z computer model shows on friday a bullseye of 3 inches of rain. I sure hope that does not happen. For flooding sake, I hope the storm shifts east for more snow.

Convective feedback, most likely. Pretty much garbage data.

Still going to rain... but the 4" bullseye was spurious.
