Pothole Problem

When I'm driving to work (like most folks I assume) I am usually still in a bit of a daze as I slowly wake up. I was driving along this morning around 3:30am when this massive pothole jarred my whole car. The bang was so loud that I thought my car was going to fall apart. I was definitely wide awake after that...

Welcome to the season of potholes. Winter is very hard on the roads, and it seems like we are in for another widespread obstacle course of potholes for the next 3 months. The city of Rockford has already been out to put a "quick fix" on some of the worst spots, but they will be playing catch up for quite awhile. The graphic above easily explains how this problem arises from Old Man Winter. -ADAM

What are the precipitation predictions for the month of January? Will this snowy pattern continue? It seems to have let up in the past week or so. Is it over, or are we just getting a breather?

Ha ha ... I usually check in from work sometime around lunch just to see what's happening weather-wise back home.

What a surprise to see a diagram explaining potholes.

Yup, interesting. And yes, they certainly are popping up (or down) all over the place... here in sunny WI, too.

Ugh not this again... Last winter's potholes were awful... and with all the freezing forecasted for this month itll only get worse.

Also, when will we see a detailed forecast for tomorrows storm? I reeaallly dont want ice.

Try and drive to or from Chicago area on 90... it is like 1 continuous pothole... Blogo needs to stop spending money on signs telling us that he set up open road tolling and tell one of his buddies to get out there with a shovel. I have never seen it this bad in the past 10 years.
