This groundhog is trying to tell me we've got six more weeks of winter, but I'm ready for an early spring. This is why I went searching for a way to debunk his prognostication.
Take a look at 13 FutureTrack. At 6:30 CST, the prediction was announced. At that time it appears as though a fairly thick deck of clouds is covering western Pennsylvania. Therefore, I looked at the closest observation site to Punxsutawney, PA and that led me to a town called DuBois. That site, which is 20 miles to the north, recorded overcast conditions from 5am to 10am EST. From looking at this data, there is NO way Phil saw his shadow. That's why I vote for an early spring! -ADAM

Well either they had a peek of sunshine right at the spot or he saw his shadow because of all the cameras flashing.
Or... We could look at weather data and not some rodent to project the timing of spring!
I think it should be called Woodchuck Day.
Why not call Feb 2nd All Swallows Day for the swallows coming back to Capistrano?
