Wind-maker Approaching

Normally when a strong cold front is approaching we would be talking about the threat for some wet weather. However, this next cold front is moisture starved just like the majority of the recent frontal boundaries. Instead of a rain-maker, this disturbance will just bring a good, chilling wind. Today we are ahead of the front and are enjoying a pleasant breeze out of the south, which will cause our temperatures to rise well above average once more. Tomorrow we will be behind the front and that will cause the direction to switch to a northwesterly component and the speeds to intensify. Northwest winds for both Wednesday and Thursday will range between 15 - 30 mph. It will take almost 36 hours for the really cold air mass to fully settle in. Temperatures for Wednesday will be in the 50s, but with such blustery conditions it'll only feel like it's in the in the 40s. Temperatures for Thursday will be in the 40s, with wind chills in the 30s!

With that said savor the sunshine and low 60s today, because we might not feel this type of warmth too many more times in 2007. -ADAM
