It All Starts On the West Coast
The storm is already brewing along the west coast in portions of Fresno and Bakersfield, CA. Right now an area of low pressure is forming out in the Pacific bringing rain to California and Nevada. Starting Thursday...the storm will start to work its way to the east bringing just a weakened version of the form to the stateline. We could see a mix of rain and maybe a little snow tomorrow after the noon hour. Friday looks to be relatively dry but we could still get a few drops of rain. Temperatures will remain relatively mild over the next two days reaching almost 40 by Friday.
But as the Accuweather pictures show..the active weather kicks off this weekend welcoming the official start to winter. As the low pressure system moves across the Great Plains with cold winds coming from the north dumping snow on ..the states of Colorado..parts of the Dakotas...and Wyoming.
Rain is likely to stay around on Saturday but turn into snow by the overnight hours and keep up the momentum for Sunday. The snow and low pressure will move through Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for Sunday but should move through in time for sunshine and no precipitation for Christmas Eve and Christmas.
