9:00pm Update: I talked with the NWS office in Chicago just a few minutes ago and they are "likely going to issue a Snow Advisory with the morning zone forecasts at around 4 in the morning." Adam Painter will post the latest for you in the morning. -ES
We'll lead the way and get a forecast map out there for our Tuesday PM storm (since it's about 24 hours away).
It appears that generally there will be 1-3 inches across the area with areas around Sterling-Rock Falls in the 1-2" range. Rockford proper could receive around 4 inches with a few 5" reports possible along the stateline into Green and Rock Counties.
I expect snow to begin late afternoon Tuesday and last into the wee hours of Wednesday. A Snow Advisory will likely be needed with this event. No word on it yet, but we'll let you know.

Okay, I've had enough winter already. Can we have Spring now, please?
Hey wi weather buff: You just might get one of the higher totals from TUE/WED mini-storm! ;) Just joshin with you.
Thanks again for the reports you provided Saturday!!! (The NWS Milwaukee also thanks you)
Would it be necessary for me to send in reports? I live about 2 miles west of the airport, so my observations would probably be close to the exact same. I never really pay attention to what happens at my house, I just look at the airport reports. And it doesnt look like this snow will go anywhere fast :(
this is a impressive cliper system.we only get around an inch on most of them.
How much snow are we supposed to get up here on upper west edge of rock county?
justin: any reports are good reports.
tyler: true, this one has quite a bit of moisture. there's a lot of moisture out there in the pacific that will be tugged in with it.
footville: you could be on the bigger side of this one. perhaps six inches? be sure to give us an update tomorrow afternoon and evening, wont you?
Thanks to all! -ERIC
