A Blowing Snow Advisory is in effect for all of Northern Illinois tonight. With up to five inches of snow that fell on New Year's Eve and projected 25mph wind gusts tonight, we could have some problems on the roads. Watch out, especially on the country roads as drifts could reduce visibilities drastically and cause traction difficulties.

I noticed tonight that the whole forecast looked different. Is this just a new graphics package for Genesis, or is it an upgrade to :LIVE?

Just took the bypass 20 on the far east end and there are emergency vehicles out there,I think a car was in the ditch. the snow is blowing across the road and making it dangerous. Be careful out there!

Wow, that is unreal, going from -5 tonight to 50 early next week, then it would be even worse if that happens, then we get bitter cold again after that. From what I have read on some websites, this warm spell wont be a long one. Who knows. I am just not looking forward 50 degree this early. I just hope we don't that, then get a huge blizzard.

Sounds like a good old fashioned January Thaw to me.
