Cold affects Pets/Animals Too

The cold weather affects everybody and everything. My car barely functioned this morning as our low hit -2° in Rockford. Remember to be extra careful with your pets. One animal that may have slipped my mind was brought to my attention by a viewer. Here is their note:

"Hey, lets not forget our feathered friends in this time of distress, would you please inform the public on how much in need, with this snow coverage and freezing temperatures, our feathered friends need not only birdseed but also water to survive. I have found several fallen birds on my walk through the woods today. As I picked their fragile body's up, I noticed how thin and light they are. Desperately in need of food. With all this snow on the ground, it pays to be a little generous and feed the wildlife. This will pay off in the spring when we observe the birds at our feeders. P.S. Suet blocks are a great source at this time."
