Record Highs Shattered!

It's only 1pm and we've broken a record high! The old record high at the Chicago/Rockford Int'l Airport was 54 set in 1946.

Here's a look at 1pm temperatures:

Rockford: 57
Freeport: 52
Sterling-Rock Falls: 63
DeKalb: 52
Rochelle: 55
Monroe: 48
Quad Cities: 60
Madison: 44

It is positively balmy out there today.

But y'know ... I was just thinking ... aside from the Spring-like temps of this January Thaw, I can already tell that its staying light out later in the afternoon now than it was just a couple of weeks ago.

Just made a mental note of that yesterday as a matter of fact.

Time to get out those seed catalogs. Spring will be here before we know it.

Yeah seed catalogs!

Even if spring doesn't actually get to the prairie until June :-)
