The Worst is Over

Even though temperatures tonight are expected to be colder than last night, the real chill was last night. Winds will remain fairly light overnight. Last night's peak wind chill will probably not be met tonight.

The warming is already taking place across the Central and Western United States. You'll notice the warming here in coming days. -ERIC

We may get the warmup and snowpack to melt, but I have a feeling after this brief warmup, we will get another huge snow and cover everything up again. From what I saw on the website I look at, looks like the arctic may come back in about a week and a half. Eric, am I ok to post the website that I go to alot. Or should I just leave that to you and adam.

I, just like you Tony, am not a meteorologist. But I have that feeling too. I havent really looked at any models or anything, but my gut is always right on these things. If meteorology was based on gut feelings, I would be pretty good at it.

I dont know if Eric or Adam have ever discussed this before, I am sure you have but I was just curious why Rochelle always seems to report temperatures during the winter that are cooler than all other locations around the area. I was looking at the temperatures here at about 12:30 and Rockford was 0 degrees while Rochelle was reporting a temp of -10. The only thing I could think of was maybe how or where the reporting station was located at but I dont think there is much difference in the geography from the rest of the stateline. Just curious if there was an explanation.

We have the same issue here also. When it snows we seem to get quite a bit more than our neighboring towns and it is much cooler. I have heard that we live in a bit of a valley and that is why? I would love to hear THIS weather teams expert advice! We get ALL of our weather info straight from the 13 news team, Thanks guys
