Maybe I jinxed it, but I put a 70° in the outlook for Wednesday. Hooray!!! The last time we were that warm you have to think back before Halloween! Oddly enough, the last time we hit 70°, we actually saw 80°. In case you were wondering, the date was October 21, 2007.After our oohs and aahs are said on Wednesday, a cold front can be expected. Even though there's not a terrible amount of cold air behind the front, it will be cold by the end of the week.
The cold front will spark a few storms Wednesday night and then hang up over the region. As low pressure develops over Oklahoma on Thursday, our winds will switch out of the northeast. Northeast winds are murder this time of year because of our proximity to Lake Michigan. Surface water temperatures are still in the upper 30s. With a northeast fetch it will seriously impact our temperatures. Luckily for us, Lake Michigan only has an effect on our temperatures March-May as this is the only time when the water temperature is colder than the air.
