It is my pleasure to announce the season's first official Barbeque Alert! With temperatures in the 60s and overnights above freezing, it will be almost ideal for cooking up some hamburgers or even having a backyard campfire!This year we're going to spice up our BBQ Alerts by giving you official 13News recipes! We'll start out the season on an easy note with hamburgers.
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 3 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons grated onion/dried onion flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
- 2 tablespoons tomato juice/ketchup
- condiments and toppings of your choice
PREPARATION:
Fire up the barbeque. Get it nice and hot.Combine the beef with bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic powder, and tomato juice/ketchup. Shape the meat into 4 to 5 large patties. Sprinkle both sides of burgers lightly with seasoned salt and pepper.
Put burgers on a lightly oiled grill over the prepared coals and grill for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until your preferred doneness. Serve on large bakery rolls. Invite weather team for dinner.
