If you have not made outdoor plans for this upcoming holiday weekend, then you are behind schedule. Yesterday I blogged about the northwesterly flow that we are currently stuck under. This cool regime is still going to hang around the area through the end of the work week, but by the weekend we should be able to turn this ship around. A large trough is set to move into the Rocky Mountains, which should kick a much warmer airmass our direction. This southwesterly flow should give us above average temperatures through the entire 3 day weekend.My prime time picks show that Saturday looks like the best day for a picnic or barbecue as we should be sitting under wall-to-wall sunshine with relatively light winds. Sunday appears to be the best day for boating on the Rock River or up at Lake Geneva with some of the warmest temperatures that we have felt this spring. Monday will be just as warm as Sunday, but the added ingredient may be a muggy feeling. There should be a slight increase in moisture in the atmosphere, which could trigger a few storms. Although, at this distance those rain chances are up in the air (no pun intended). This humidity may cause some of you to flip on your air conditioner for the first time this year! -ADAM

they HERE IN DEKALB, THEY ARE CONDUCTING A DRILL. THEY ARE USING S YCAMORE AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITES TO RESPOND TO A TORNADO TOUCHDOWN IN DEKALB. THEY CALL IT A RADIO DRILL. YES, I GOT A SCANNER. BUT ITS GOOD TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE PRACTING THESE THINGS! U NEVER KNOW WHEN A TORNADO WILL HIT YOUR COMMUNITY.
Also, don't forger that saturday night at 9:30, the young at heart will be having a fireworks show from sand park hill.
