An Early Happy Mother's Day!

This forecast goes out to all the mothers across the Stateline. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of good news to share with you regarding the weather on your special day. Rain showers will start Saturday night and continue periodically throughout the majority of Sunday. The wet weather should slowly taper off through the late afternoon hours. Winds around this storm system will be whipping up to levels near 25 mph. Due to the wet weather and gray skies, high temperatures for Mother's Day likely will be stuck almost 15 degrees below normal.

I have tried to make the forecast at least look a little more appealing. I think most moms deserve more than one flower, so I have added over a dozen tulips to the graphic just for all the mothers in the area. To everyone searching high and low for that special gift for mom... regardless of what you find be sure to give her a warm hug. That just could be about as good as anything on a chilly day! -ADAM

For a little twist on Mother's Day ... this year I decided to do something for Mother Nature on Mothers Day.

Today I signed up for the option with my Power & Light company which allows me to (voluntarily) pay a little extra in order to purchase all my electricity from renewable energy sources.

According to my Power Company's website:

"When just one household participates in Second Nature at the 100 percent level, the annual carbon dioxide emission reductions is environmentally equivalent to not driving a car over 21,400 miles, or planting more than two acres of trees."

So that's what I did today. Happy Mother's Day, Mother Nature.
