Showers and thunderstorms racing through Eastern Iowa at the present time. A good, old fashioned bow-echo is taking shape from Dubuque down to Cedar Rapids. This will continue east-southeast and will affect Carroll and Whiteside County by 10:30pm. Ogle and Lee Counties will be affected by 11, 11:30. Bow-echos often produce gusty straight-line winds ahead of the main band of heavy rainfall. Winds in excess of 60mph are possible which can blow down trees and powerlines. While severe weather was not anticipated early on, we'll be watching this line of storms closely as it moves into NW Illinois. I have a feeling they will lose a little bit of their punch as they head into Illinois because of the lack of instability and low-level moisture here. Will monitor...

Tornado warning with a doplar indicated rotation for Jones County right now around the Amamosa area which is northeast of Cedar Rapids here at 10:15. Kind of odd to see in a bow echo.
When you get a few storms out ahead of the line that merge into the bow, you can get some pretty decent shear. Probably no tornado but DVN is being safe now instead of being sorry later.
Im watching the weather channel radar and it looks like they are losing some of their punch. I have a feeling they will fall apart before they fully hit.
