Opening night for the Rockford Riverhawks is tonight. The game is set to start at 7:05pm against the River City Rascals with fireworks following the game. As the beautiful picture shows, the game will be played at Road Ranger Stadium just off of Riverside Blvd. and I-90. It won't feel too bad when the first pitch is thrown at 62°. Although with clear skies and fairly light winds, the mercury will fall quite a bit by the time the game is over. I would estimate the game to finish around 10pm, which by that time the thermometer should show readings around 52°. If you are headed to the game tonight, I would advise you to wear jeans and a sweatshirt or a light jacket. You wouldn't want to be shivering through that fireworks display! Not to ruffle any feathers or shells... the Beloit Snappers have been playing games since early April. The Snappers are the single 'A' affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. They do not play at home tonight, but do have a homestand this Friday through Memorial Day against the Burlington Bees. They play their games at Pohlman Field, which is just a couple miles off of the interchange between I-43 and I-90. Beloit Snappers Homepage

It was a pretty good game. Left during the 7th hawks were up 9-0. The Rascals didnt look too good. And I was prepared we even had a blanket.
I was there as well. It is amazing how low 60s with sunlight feels so much warmer than low 60s under a shadow in left field. My teeth almost started chattering by the 7th inning. I would say those Rascals need to work on their fielding. I believe they had at least 4 errors.
