1:42 a.m. - The severe weather threat in Lee and DeKalb Counties has ended. The only issue for the remainder of the night across northern Illinois is locally heavy rain with a few areas getting some flash flooding.

Thanks to everyone who joined us this evening with our severe weather coverage. We'll be tweaking our live blogging for the next event. And please keep the people in northeastern Iowa in your thoughts and prayers, too - they'll be needing as much support as possible.

All I can say eric is that that live chat you had was awesome. I hope you all do that more often even if there isnt severe weather. Great job to both of you.

I agree Tony, WREX goes above and beyond and helps us all feel more at ease during severe weather events. Don't know of any other station that does that.

It sure helps me out, I am sure not a severe weather fan. This storm has my stomach in knots..will be up for quite a while.

This blog is great for everyone. Both the ones that want to stay safe, and the others (like me) that love to see the storms and lightning... although on the other hand I don't want to see any property damage or injuries.

The up to the second updates with live blogging were awesome. Nobody else has anything like that.

I know when those regular storms were coming through overnight, we had one boom around 130 in the morning that literally shook our house and my door lock rattled. If it was clear outsiced I would have thought it was an earthquake. It was a shaker. These other so called stations can try to keep people alert, but WREX goes way above that.
