Hottest Still to Come

Recapping the highest heat we have felt thus far in 2008 shows that we have topped out at 87° three times, and eclipsed 88° twice. We have yet to go above that mark, but that looks quite possible by Friday.

The European Model shows the setup quite nicely. An area of low pressure will be spinning over the Dakotas by Friday morning. Ahead of it, southerly winds gusting up to 25 mph will kick in some very warm and very moist air. Temperatures could be close to 90° with dew points approaching 70°. The front looks like it will ignite some thunderstorms that should push through the Stateline late Friday night and early Saturday morning. We break back into sunshine by Saturday afternoon, which should salvage the day and the rest of the weekend. -ADAM

Sunday appears much more comfortable with low levels of humidity and dry skies.
