Original Post: Skies are clearing up across the stateline here at 2pm. The atmosphere remains extremely unstable in southern and eastern Iowa. Out ahead of the cold front, we are expecting strong thunderstorm development in this zone by 4pm. This line of storms will accelerate eastward through the evening and possibly affect our area by dinnertime.

Damaging wind will be the greatest threat. More details as storms are born this afternoon. -ES

I think we can tolerate it if we look ahead at our fantastic 7 day forecast.

And are the storms supposed to fire up ahead of the showers in iowa?
