Day late and a dollar short

Labor Day 2008: First 90° of the year! After making it through the month of June, July, and August without reaching the 90 degree mark the mercury at Rockford finally, officially eclipsed 90 at 3:39pm. This not only marks the first time on record that Rockford has failed to reach 90 degrees during meteorological summer (June, July, and August), but this will obviously go down as the latest first 90° temperature in the year. Records for Rockford date back to 1893.

WHEW! Good thing I hedged it!

I found my previous wager, back on August 7, when I said,

I think there's no way we'll make it to Dec. 31 2008 w/out at least one 90-degree day.

If I'm wrong I'll offer Eric 3 accurate snow depth measurements (3 different occasions) whenever he wants to ask for them during the winter of 2008-2009.

Guess I'm still off the hook for those sn*w depth measurements!

*grin*
