Battlefield: The Show Me State

The main weather feature across the country this morning is a potent area of low pressure spinning near southwestern Missouri. Initially, you would think this would be an ominous scenario for us. Instead, we have a strong guardian sitting to the north of us.

High pressure likes to spread out. This force will act as a blocking mechanism. The jet stream, or storm track, is well to the north in Canada at this time. With nothing to push this storm and an area of high pressure bogging things down even more, this storm system will likely just spin in place and dump more rain on the same areas.

Our guardian, high pressure, could weaken by Friday. This could allow some instability and moisture to move into the Stateline. At this point, any rain we see on Friday will be fairly minimal. -ADAM

You all have a pretty good blog. I see that WIFR-23 is now promoting that they have blogs now. Looks like they've noticed what a good thing this is. Don't worry, I'll keep watching Channel 13. -JP
