Gravity Wave Caught on Tape
This is a time lapse from a weathercam in central Iowa. The station that runs the weathercam is KCCI. The 40 minute footage was condensed into a 30 second clip and is the most vivid imagery that I have seen of a gravity wave. The footage looks as though you are looking up from the bottom of the ocean at waves on the surface. Gravity waves act just like ocean waves as they propogate through the atmosphere. Rarely do these waves have a major effect on our weather. Typically, they merely give us a look at some different cloud formations and movements. -ADAM

Incredible! Does it actually have something to do with the gravity, and if so how can it do that, or is it an air phenomena?
