High pressure currently over eastern Montana is starting to slide to the southeast. When it reaches the Dakotas on Friday, it will give us fabulous weather. Friday is shaping up to be a day with light winds, plenty of sunshine, and warm temperatures. When the area of high pressure reaches the Appalachian Mountains this weekend, it will cause a significant heat wave. Southwesterly winds will crank up and kick in some serious heat that has been bubbling up over the desert southwest. The three H's will definitely be in effect: hazy, hot, and humid. Sunday could very well turn out to be the hottest day of the year thus far with some locations cracking the mid-90s. My tip to you... find a nearby pool, lake, or river to cool off in this weekend. -ADAM
