It might seem extreme, but with the heavy rain that is moving through right now rainfall rates could be up around an inch an hour. The threat for damaging winds and hail has subsided, but with frequent lightning strikes it is still unsafe to be outdoors. I am looking at the Skycam down East State Street right now and it looks more like a river than a road. The intense rainfall will end over the next couple of hours, but periodic showers and storms will continue into the first part of Independence Day. -ADAM
