Update 9:00pm = The SNOW ADVISORY now includes the entire viewing area. The advisory has been extended to run through 6am. Road conditions will not improve until sunrise.Update 3:45pm = There is a large batch of snow covering the Stateline viewing area at this time. It is light to moderate in intensity. This round of snow will continue through 6pm. There will be another batch of snow that I expect to move through during the overnight hours. Commute times will be slow tonight, but the morning commute on Tuesday should see remarkable improvement. -ADAM
The National Weather Service has issued a SNOW ADVISORY which is in effect until 3am Tuesday for the locations highlighted to the left.
Light snow early today will become heavier and more steady later on today and tonight. 1-3 inches will likely accumulate this afternoon across North Central Illinois with a like amount overnight tonight. Tuesday morning totals will range from 3-6 inches with higher amounts along the Wisconsin border.
A snow advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

A SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CST TUESDAY.
LIGHT SNOW WAS ALREADY SPREADING INTO SOUTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN EARLY THIS MORNING AND WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE IN INTENSITY. THE MORNING COMMUTE WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE SNOWFALL WITH SOME ROADS BECOME SLIPPERY IN SPOTS AND STRETCHES.
THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY AND INTO THE EVENING... FINALLY DIMINISHING FROM WEST TO EAST AFTER MIDNIGHT. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED.
Just a request .... if/when WREX has made a decision to stop including the Wisconsin counties (Green, Rock, Walworth) in its weather watch/warn/advisory info area that's your business decision (although one I would be sad to see) .... but please do let us know so that we know that we'll have to look elsewhere for this info for our area.
Sorry. When you get one hour of sleep... and work the turn around shift..the work load piles up. Thanks for including the other counties.
That's ok. I've always been very glad that thousands of "armchair critics" don't get to watch me doing my job every day...
Do you have a snowfall prediction for Dekalb? So far, we got about 1/2 inch last night, and it hasn't been snowing all day. It's almost 2pm right now and we have a little sunshine!
Up here in loves park the snow has been mostly light. It seems to pick up in bursts at times but for a while the radar was showing snow, but nothing coming down. I have a feeling it will get heavier later on. I know they said that the snow will be getting steadier later this afternoon into tonight. We are getting a good burst of it now as I am typing.
Candice H:
I'm in this evening for Eric Sorensen and I'm just pounding out the details of the forecast, but Winnebago County and points northward look like they're in for storm totals of 3 to 6 inches with lesser amounts the farther south you live. 2 to 4 inches still appears to be a good bet in DeKalb.
