Light snow for most, heavy bursts for some
3:06pm - Bursts of heavy snow here at the WREX-TV studios. If you have any shots of the snow please send them to us at weather@wrex.com.
(1:55:11 PM) iembot: MKX: Janesville [Rock Co, WI] trained spotter reports SNOW of M0.8 INCH at 01:50 PM CST -- 0.8 inches of snow measured in 30 minutes.
Your eyes don't deceive you. There are a handful of locations that are picking up accumulating snow this afternoon. Fortunately, most of the viewing area will receive only light snow.
But why did Janesville get so much snow? Well, think about those afternoon popcorn showers that develop in the afternoon. We're having the winter version of that!
Feel free to send your snowfall reports to weather@wrex.com and upload any pictures to See it, Shoot, Show it!

Okay, I'll say it.
Y'know, some of those pictures are sideways.
He was too lazy to turn them before uploading them! Don't worry, though, I pelted him with a snowball.
Apparently 13 was the only place that had heavier bursts because I don't see any other pics on here. I know when I went into work yesterday at 3 I did see the dark snow cloud just west of the our store, so I imagine that was the cloud that was producing this snow.
Yeah, the heavy snow was very hit and miss. We still had some snow covering the grass at the station at 10 this morning, although I haven't been outside since then to see if it's still around.
It snowed a bunch at my house, but when I drove about 10 minutes to work my car was the only one covered in snow... everything else was bone dry.
